25-mile Electrical Transmission Rebuild Project
NES installed a “rock fence” for the main grading areas to protect a nearby highway from sliding rocks. Silt fence and/or sediment stop was installed at the base of the “rock fence” as well as other locations. Straw bale ditch checks were utilized in swales and roadway ditches. Restoration consisted of native seeding with erosion matting to stabilize the soil until vegetation reached 70%. REL installed cattle fencing to protect restored areas within pastures. Natural erosion matting was used within pastures to protect the cattle in case it was ingested.
