Restoration Technician – LTE Position
NES Ecological Services, A Division of Robert E. Lee & Associates, Inc., is an established natural resources consulting firm located in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area that specializes in wetlands and native habitat restoration. We are currently seeking a qualified technician to assist with restoration projects throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Preferred applicants will have restoration background knowledge in invasive species control through spot herbicide applications; possess knowledge of Wisconsin and/or Midwestern flora and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Possessing or having the ability to obtain a Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License will be necessary for this position.
The candidate should be working toward or already obtained a 2 or 4 year degree in Ecosystem Restoration & Management, Natural Resources, Botany, Environmental Science, Biology with an emphasis in Natural Resources, or related fields. Applicants with relevant job-related experience are preferred but not required. The candidate must be self-motivated and organized to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner to meet our client’s needs and to ensure budgets are not exceeded. Some travel and extended work hours will be required. Strong ecological skills, a positive attitude, and good client relations will allow the successful applicant to continue their professional development while building the native habitat restoration portion of NES.
This is a Limited Term Employment position with an anticipated start date in May 2017. We are willing to work around students’ summer break schedule, and are willing to employ UW- Stevens Point students who will be attending Treehaven. Employment is expected to continue for roughly either 6 or 12 weeks. Hours worked per week will vary depending on weather and workload, but an average of 40-50 hours is anticipated. The rate of pay is $10.00 – $12.00 per hour depending on level of experience. No benefits are included with this position.
